Kilkenny Roots Festival 2027: A Long Weekend of Music

30 April–3 May 2027 · Kilkenny city

Follow the music to Kilkenny for the Smithwick’s Kilkenny Roots Festival. A long weekend across city venues gives you the chance to plan a break around the acts and settings you most want to experience.

Make it a road trip

Stay close enough to travel into the city without driving between performances. Build in a separate afternoon for Kilkenny itself, then consider a short Ancient East extension if you have more nights available.

Plan your event stay

Check which performances require individual tickets and how the timetable fits together. An authorised overnight pitch and a plan for getting back after evening music are part of the trip.

Find your campervan for 2027

Retro Camper Hire offers campervan hire all year round, subject to vehicle availability. Turn the event into a break that suits you. Compare Retro Camper Hire’s campervans and choose the layout and facilities for your group. Check campervan dates and prices, or ask us about your trip before finalising tickets and your overnight pitch.

Plan your journey from our Dublin campervan hire base, or use our Ireland touring guide to build a longer road trip around the event.

Hire availability depends on your dates. Event admission, campsite pitches and any event vehicle passes are booked separately and are not included in campervan hire.
