Information you provide An enquiry includes your name, contact details and message. A booking includes contact and billing details, travel dates, your campervan, passenger numbers and selected extras. Required fields are marked on the forms; without the necessary details we cannot process the enquiry or booking. Please avoid putting sensitive documents or card numbers in message fields.
How we use it We use enquiry and booking details to answer your request, take steps towards a hire agreement, administer your booking and provide the hire service. These uses are based on taking steps at your request before a contract or performing that contract. We also process records where needed to meet legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in handling queries, resolving disputes and maintaining website security.
Online booking and payment Our website uses WordPress and MotoPress Hotel Booking to handle booking information. The online card-payment fields use Stripe. Stripe processes payment and technical information to provide payment services and prevent fraud; see Stripe’s privacy notice. A payment provider may have its own legal duties and act as a separate controller for some processing.
Access and service providers Booking and enquiry information is available to the people administering your request and to the hosting, website-support and payment services needed to operate the website. Payment providers may process information outside the European Economic Area; their notices explain their locations and transfer safeguards. Contact us for details about recipients or transfers relating to your own records.
Keeping records Retention depends on the reason the information was collected: responding to an enquiry, administering the hire, keeping required accounting records or resolving a dispute. Irish Revenue generally requires original tax records to be kept for six years. This does not mean every website message or technical log needs to be kept for six years. Contact us to ask about the retention or deletion of a particular record.
Cookies and external services We use Google Analytics, provided by Google through the MonsterInsights plugin, to understand visits and how people use our website. Analytics is assigned to the optional Statistics category in our cookie controls. You can refuse optional cookies with Deny, or choose categories through View preferences. Use Manage consent to reopen these controls and change or withdraw your choice. Our consent tool is configured to remember your choice for up to 365 days. Embedded YouTube videos wait for Marketing consent; the separate Watch on YouTube link lets you visit YouTube directly. Google explains its processing in Google’s privacy policy. Booking and security features use cookies or similar browser storage to carry information between steps. Blocking these in your browser may prevent those features from working. The website also loads Google Fonts, and checkout loads Stripe services; connecting to an external service sends technical connection information to that provider. Links to YouTube, maps, social networks and review websites lead to services with their own privacy notices.
Your rights Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it. Send requests to info@retrocamperhire.ie; we may need to verify your identity. You can also raise a concern with Ireland’s Data Protection Commission.
Marketing choices and data requests We do not treat submitting a booking enquiry as consent to unrelated promotional emails. Where marketing consent is required, it should be collected separately and can be withdrawn. You can request information about the data held about you or ask us to correct it using the contact details above.
Scope and updates This website notice was reviewed on 18 October 2026 and applies to website enquiries and bookings made during 2026 and 2027, unless superseded by a later notice. If you provide driver documents, insurance or accident information separately, contact us for the information that applies to those records.
