Campervan hire Ireland

Planning a campervan holiday in Ireland? Retro Camper Hire is based in Bluebell, Dublin 12, where you can collect your campervan before exploring the country. See our Dublin campervan hire guide for depot collection information and links to all 15 campervan pages. Start by checking campervan availability for your travel dates, then compare the individual vehicles for seating, sleeping arrangements and equipment.
How to choose a campervan for your trip
Choose by your group and facilities: compare our two-berth campervans, family campervan layouts, and campers with a toilet and shower. Each guide links to the individual vehicles and explains what to check before booking.
| Campervan | Travel seats | Sleeps | Gearbox |
|---|---|---|---|
| Europa | 2 | 2 | Manual |
| Maverick | 4 | 2 | Automatic |
| Grande | 6 | 6 | Manual |
Travel seats and sleeping berths are different: Maverick can carry four people but sleeps two. These three campers list both a toilet and a shower. Open each vehicle page to compare photos and facilities, then check availability for your dates. For more layouts, use the campervan guides above.
Retro Camper Hire offers retro campervans and motorhomes with different layouts and facilities. Check the vehicle page for the number of people who can travel and sleep, cooking equipment, and whether a toilet or shower is included. For practical booking questions, read our campervan hire FAQs and current rental terms.
Plan your route around Ireland
Once you’ve selected a camper van hire company and booked your vehicle, it’s time to start planning your trip. Ireland has so much to offer, from its stunning coastlines and rolling hills to its rich history and culture. Some popular destinations for camper van travellers include the Wild Atlantic Way, a 2,500 km coastal route that takes in some of the most breathtaking scenery in the country, and the Ring of Kerry, a 179 km circular route that takes in some of the most picturesque towns and villages in the Southwest.
Compare coastal and inland options in our Irish campervan routes guide. Allow time for driving back to the Dublin depot as well as sightseeing.
Arrange your overnight stops
Plan campsite stops before you travel and confirm each site’s opening dates, motorhome pitches and facilities directly with the operator. Check whether electric hook-up, fresh water, waste disposal, toilets or showers are available when comparing sites.
When it comes to food and drink, Ireland has a lot to offer. The country is known for its hearty, traditional cuisine, such as Irish stew and Guinness pie, as well as its delicious seafood. Many camper van hire companies offer cooking facilities and utensils, so you can whip up your own meals on the go. Alternatively, you can stop at one of the many pubs and restaurants scattered throughout the country to sample some local specialties.

Drivers and licence requirements
Drivers must meet the current insurer’s age and licence requirements. The stated minimum age is 25. Check the latest hire terms and conditions and ask the team to confirm eligibility before paying.
Choosing the right campervan
Compare the actual number of travel seats, sleeping berths, kitchen equipment, storage and whether the specific vehicle has a toilet or shower. Not every vehicle offers identical facilities. Confirm the transmission, driver eligibility and vehicle specification on your selected camper’s page before booking.
Security deposit and optional extras
Deposits, excess protection, bedding and other extras may affect the total cost. Read the terms and check the booking quote for the exact amounts applicable to your dates and vehicle rather than relying on old blog prices.
Explore Ireland after collecting in Dublin
For itinerary ideas, browse our pub-stopover guide, golf road trips and surfing destinations. Book authorised overnight parking independently; a public car park does not automatically allow sleeping in a campervan.
